These are so beautiful...but they also make me kind of uncomfortable since I am very pervious to pain....

I love this.
I always find people with dark skin like that so entrancing.
That, and I love seeing pictures of people from different cultures.

I can't say for certain, however, the majority of the articles I've read on the subject suggest the skin is actually cut, sometimes even more than once. I've also read of rubbing dark pigments or even gunpowder into the wound to emphasize the scarring. I can't imagine.

These people are all so beautiful. They are strong and what it symbolizes is quite amazing.
I don't know how they stand it, of course it is like some people with tattoos.
I'd like to get tattoos. Perhaps it is the same short of pain?

I'm fascinated with scarrification so it was interesting to see it in its traditional culture. I hadn't really thought about where it originated!
